Q:Why can’t I buy coverage on the day of my trip?

Q:If I cancel my trip, will I get all of my money back?
A:Trip cancellation coverage refunds prepaid, nonrefundable payments if you have to cancel your trip for one of the reasons covered by your policy. Covered reasons may include, but are not limited to, the following: sudden medical emergencies, bad weather, military obligations, and jury duty. Changing your mind about taking a trip, for example, is not covered. If you cancel your trip for a covered reason, you must notify your travel supplier(s) within 72 hours of the occurrence, otherwise the right to compensation will lapse. Please refer to the terms and conditions of your policy to see which covered reasons are included.
Q:What expenses related to my trip are considered to be nonrefundable?
A:Nonrefundable costs include the total sum of all of your trip payments that would be forfeited due to cancellation prior to trip departure. Some examples include cruise, tour, and airline ticket costs.
Benefits of Trip Protection
Q:What is trip protection?
A:Trip protection is a combination of insurance benefits and assistance services specifically designed to help protect travelers while away from home. Trip Protection covers a traveler’s financial investment in travel (up to the limit designated in the policy). Additional benefits can also provide reimbursement for unexpected travel expenses and 24-hour access to emergency medical referrals and assistance. Please see your Certificate of Insurance/Policy for full details on what your policy covers.
Q:Why should I purchase trip protection?
A:Trip protection insures your prepaid trip expenses should an unexpected covered reason cause you to miss your trip. Many travelers who did not purchase travel insurance have found themselves without recourse and shouldering the expense when the unexpected occurs. Trip protection can also include reimbursement for unexpected travel expenses that may be incurred and 24-hour access to emergency medical referrals and assistance.
Q:What is an example of a covered reason for trip cancellation?
A:There are many covered reasons for trip cancellation. The most common reason travelers cannot take their scheduled trip is due to an injury or illness. For example, if a family was planning a summer vacation and a week before the trip an immediate family member was admitted to the hospital with an unforeseen serious illness, the family could file a claim for any prepaid expenses or other costs associated with a change or cancellation of their vacation plans.
